Ironwood Investment Management was created by experienced small company stock investors to offer institutional and high-net worth clients an independent investment manager that approaches every facet of the investment business with the highest level of integrity and effort.
Formed in 1997 by Warren Isabelle the firm has steadfastly adhered to the principles it was based upon. Donald Collins joined soon after the creation of the firm and have continued upon its stated goals, growing in assets and clients every year since inception.
The focus is delivering the very best in small company stock investment management across an array of equity offerings. The firm began managing mutual fund and high-net worth assets in 1998 and began managing separate accounts for a group of well-known institutional clients in 1999.
Warren Isabelle is the president and chief investment officer of Ironwood Investment Management, Warren is best known for his management of Ironwood/Isabelle Small Company Stock Funds (formally ICM/Isabelle Small Cap Value) (http://web.archive.org/web/20061022102228/http://www.ironwoodfunds.com/) a small cap value mutual fund launched in 1998 and named as one of the "Best of the New Funds" for 1999 by Kiplinger's Personal Finance Magazine. Prior to the Ironwood Investment Management he was Head of Domestic Equities at Pioneer Management Company in Boston and portfolio manager of the Pioneer Capital Growth Fund (later re-named Pioneer Mid-Cap Value) which he oversaw from its inception in 1990 through early 1997. During his tenure, The Fund grew to over $2 billion assets.
Mr. Isabelle has received national attention for his ability to uncover promising, yet frequently unnoticed small companies. As a result of his research efforts and consistent performance, Mr. Isabelle has appeared in feature articles in Barron's, Business Week, Forbes, Fortune, Money and Smart Money. Mr. Isabelle has also appeared on "Wall $treet Week with Louis Rukeyser."
